Make ours a soft drink! Our favourite alcohol-free cocktails to see you through Dry January and beyond

After an indulgent Christmas period have you banished the booze?

With an estimated 4.2 million* of us saying goodbye to our favourite tipples over January, you aren’t alone. But now we are in week three and the festive hangover seems like a distant memory, giving up alcohol can prove harder than originally thought.

With this in mind, we’ve compiled a list of our personal favourites below, all with products you can find in your local Central Offers store, offering tasty and refreshing alternatives – minus the foggy head!

Virgin Banana Colada

The weather outside may be dismal, but this fabulously fruity virgin cocktail takes us straight to Copacabana Beach…well we can dream, can’t we?

Ingredients:

  • Pureed bananas
  • Diced pineapple
  • Pineapple juice
  • Coconut milk
  • Ice

Method

  • Blend and serve in a Hurricane Cocktail glass
  • Garnish with a wedge of pineapple and a glacé cherry on a cocktail stick

Mint Mojito

Speaking of sunnier climes, lets head to Cuba with a refreshing Mojito. Just kiss goodbye to the rum and infuse soda water with plenty of lime and mint. Delicioso!

Ingredients:

  • Soda water
  • Sugar (2 tea spoons)
  • Fresh mint
  • Limes 2)
  • Ice

Method:

  • Fill glass half with soda, half with ice
  • Add sugar and 8-10 mint leaves
  • Squeeze the lime juice in and add limes into mixture
  • Stir well
  • Garnish with lime wedge and mint leaf

Raspberry and Lemon Slush

We adore these Raspberry lemonade slushies courtesy of BBC Good Food – the perfect treat to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Ingredients:

  • Raspberries (600g)
  • Lemons (2, juiced)
  • Ice cubes (9)
  • Sugar (2 tea spoons)

Method:

  • Put all ingredients in a blender and blitz until you get a smooth slush consistency

Virgin Mimosa

A classic and a Sunday morning staple, enjoying this Mimosa doesn’t need to make brunch a boozy one.

Ingredients:

  • Orange Juice
  • Lemonade
  • Sugar
  • Orange

Method:

  • Mix the orange juice with lemonade
  • Rim glass with sugar and garnish with a slide of fresh orange
